We had 8 windows replaced on our second floor. Matt who came out to do initial estimate was very informative and no pressure to buy. Our house is over 100 years old so not all straight lines, however, Terry and Stephen have done a great job inside and out with the installation. We are very happy with the overall experience and will be using them again when ready to do our downstairs.

I just had a new patio door installed by Mike and Alex. Yesterday I had new windows installed by Dave and Jerry. I highly recommend this company for their sales staff and qualified installers. There was a minor factory defect in the door lock, however in less than one hour they had called for replacement hardware and had it working perfectly. I love the windows so much I’m not even going to put any blinds over them.

I needed the Arched Window replaced in my home. The top half circle pane seals went bad. I contacted more than three local window companies looking for options to repair or replace. Hess Windows gave me the best deal and replaced the entire two piece window. The window that they put in was better than what was originally there. The installation took four hours. I ordered the window on 9/13/19 and it was installed on 3/12/20. I was told the wait time would be 16+ weeks. The window was ready to be installed on 2/15/20 and I pushed it back four weeks. I had no problem with the wait time, good quality and good value. Ten year limited workmanship and lifetime limited warranty on window. I would recommend and use them again.

I have had work done by Hess for over twenty years and they are the only company I trust for windows and doors. Their work is beyond good and they are reliable. My recent replacement windows were completed by David and Shawn whose work was beyond good but also they listened to what I wanted and made it work. I am having more windows of a difficult nature added to my home and have requested the same team. They were efficient and a pleasure to have in my home. The whole process from ordering (Matt), scheduling (Kevin) and their front desk (Nancy) was a more than pleasant experience.

Blaine and Chris came at exactly at the time the job was scheduled. The product was free of damage and tested for proper function. All interior work was expertly done. Instructions for operating the sliding door and folding down the other windows for cleaning were provided clearly. Both of these installers were professional, very pleasant, and efficient. We had replacement three-panel slider windows installed by Hess and were very satisfied with the quality of the windows and the service.They were able to move up the date of installation by a month, which we appreciated because we now have the more efficient windows before winter really sets in. The installers were very professional and knowledgeable, and they took away the old windows and cleaned up both inside and outside.

Moved here 15 years ago and had all regular windows replaced by Hess Windows. In 2013, I had Front Bow window replaced. Now, in December of 2019, I had the rear Bow widow replaced. Locally owned and well respected company with attention to customer service. The employees are long standing and extremely knowledgeable. On the day of installation, both Mike and Shawn were careful to contain their workspace and made sure to cleanup the area, both inside and out before they left. He was the third and final window salesman to come talk with us for the purpose of advice, product information, and estimated price tag for replacement windows. Needless to say, he was not only the last salesman with whom we met, but the absolute best salesman and sold us what we believe are the best replacement windows for our home at a really good price compared to the other companies. 2018 installation went so well with the company's installers that we completed the main level of our home in 2019, just last week. Hopefully (in 2020) we will have the final four windows upstairs replaced by Hess Windows. With the final four completed, all windows will be replaced with guarantee/warranty by Hess Windows.
We cannot say enough about how reliable, professional, and informative the entire staff has been. They enter our home, work inside/outside, and leave our home in better condition than when they arrived. Matt Goodwin, Little Matt (installation measuring and scheduling), Kevin and the installers themselves have all done excellent work with an excellent product. The windows are energy efficient, easy to open and close, and absolutely worth the reasonable price as compared to the other quotes we received in 2018. The installation days, for us, have gone smoothly and all work was completed in the time frame predicted. The installation crew in 2019 (Chris, Terry, Jon, Dave) did an excellent job under Mike's leadership. We must add that Chris (installer) went above and beyond to clean up thoroughly both days, in addition to answering our questions regarding the install process and throughout the cleanup process. We could not have expected or asked for anything more from Chris in the way of respect for us and our home. He was, in our opinion, the key to proper onsite preparation, installation, and clean up for the entire 2019 contractual agreement. A great big THANK YOU to Jeff ( we were initially given Jeff's name by a neighbor) and all the staff at Hess Windows!
Update as of May 2019: We have ordered a new front entry door (with side lite & transom) and storm door to replace the original doors. We fully expect quality doors and installation; we will update this review again after the install is completed in June. Hess Windows is so very reliable, professional and honest with their customers!
Update: Doors installed on June 28th by Terry, Shawn and Christian. Once again, an excellent install from beginning to end. We can now keep our inside door open on nice days and lock our storm door so people can know we are home and absolutely NO Bugs can get in around our storm/screen door! How wonderful!!!!! We are confident that if we need any adjustments in the future, Hess will stand by their work and return to adjust whatever is needed. So far, so very good! Terry, Shawn and Christian make a great installation team! Hopefully, sometime we can have our door out to the garage and our back door replaced by Hess's in the future. We need not even explore other companies because they carry excellent products and have an excellent installation staff as headed by Kevin. Thank you again, Hess Windows and Doors!!!!!

Exceptional quality service and polite staff! After really struggling to find a trustworthy window installer for a cracked front picture window, we came across Hess who were not once pushy, never felt gimmicky like many of the others we looked into, and said it like it is.

5 Stars all around.... This is my 3rd project with Hess Windows on an old Victorian house. I've done a round of large oversized windows and two doors. Mike P (Sales Rep) has been great to work with. Quick and easy to communicate with....quick to find you the answer. No hard sales pressure. Blaine (installer) has been great to work with! The Hess people just finished installing the two last windows in my home that needed replacing. You would never know they were here except for the perfect windows now in place. Everything cleaned up and they didn't destroy my plants on the outside! Hess has replaced 8 windows in my home and my front storm door. As everyone else says, customer service with estimating, measuring, and installation is top notch. I think the prices are fair too. Highly recommended.

"Quality doors and excellent Customer Service"
We decided it was time to replace our homes original doors from the 70's. With a house full of dogs, the doors had seen brighter days. We transitioned from the French door style to a single door style for more functioning single door.
We were extremely pleased with Mike who came out to give us an estimate. He is very dog friendly (we have 7 so we know)! He reviewed all our options for our needs. Mike was very responsive along the process of finalizing our wants for our door.
Our new front door is absolutely beautiful. Well made & very detailed. We love it. Our side door was done as well. It has proven to not get scratched by our dogs wanting to come in.
We did have a few estimates, but we found that Hess not only had the best options and quality doors, they were reasonably priced compared to others.

Hess's does an awesome job. Steve and his partner did a meticulous job putting in a complete front door and a special family room door. The salesman, Matt covered everything in setting up the project. Terry came several weeks later after I put in a second order for rear steel door to deck. He did an awesome job on that door. Could not say enough for the workmanship put into both jobs. Product was quality.

I just placed another order for two more windows. This company delivers customer service -- nice people who do what they say they will do when they say they will do it. After much research and many in home demonstrations from multiple window companies, we chose to stay local. We have had our Florida room sliders for almost a year. They were professionally installed by Christian and Blaine who took good care to clean up afterwards as well. The windows have certainly made a difference and work well. This month we had seven second story double hung windows installed, Christian and Steve again were professional. The windows move well, seal completely and can be washed inside and out with ease. Matt (both of them) who I have had the opportunity to work with each time have been helpful and willing to answer all the questions I have asked. We had a need which was addressed immediately. We are now return customers and share what Hess offers with others.

And I just want to say thank you to all you guys that were involved with my project.
" In Kroll's case, only one of several surprising discovers- a previous owner painting and caulking all of the windows shut- was that drastic. September 13, 2017 I am sending this letter to you re: Isiah and Terry, two installers that worked at our home on 8/31/17. I felt I had to let you know what a great job these guys did installing 9 Okna windows throughout our home. They were courteous, professional, very neat in doing their work and clean up. I am sure a lot of times you just hear about what was not done properly. These guys took it to the next level. I have had experience with Hess in the past. The company did work at my Mother's home, as well as our condo. We were always pleased. Plus 13 1/2 years ago Hess installed a new steel door on the front of our home when we purchased it. So again, thank you and your guys for making it a good experience. Our home looks so nice with the new windows. I cannot wait to see the difference this winter. Our windows were the original from when our home was built 46 years ago. Of course we are the second owners, it was due. I also want to give out thanks to Matt, Sales. Rep. that came out to show us the window, and another young man named Matt that came to give a second measure to all of the windows. Again, they were very professional and pleasant to work with.
August 2, 2017 I felt that you should know that your whole process from sale to installation went very smooth with no problems. Mike Pelone was right up front with everything, honest, pleasant, helpful, professional, made recommendations, and was concerned to make sure that your company could offer what we wanted and needed for the house's front awning. Kevan in your manufacture/installation department was very helpful , professional, and reassuring for some of my questions i had after a few days (my after thoughts regarding the awning and its structural strength). Mike & Dave (your installers) were very honest, pleasant, professional, and concerned to make sure that the installation was correct and to my satisfaction. I was happily surprised how Mike made sure that at important steps in the installation that he used large level and plum-bob to make sure that everything was put on correctly and was level (both vertical & horizontal). Mike & Dave also made sure that the additional panel of siding and the small pieces covered the areas that i discussed with Mike Pelone & with Mike when he had confirmed Mike Pelone's measurement, etc. There is no question that Mike & Dave (installers) paid attention to all of those little details that makes a Big Difference in finished product and very satisfied customer.
August 1, 2017 A representative of Hess Windows called yesterday to see how I was getting along with my new windows. I told her I planned to write a letter to you. The windows are absolutely wonderful. What a treat to raise one and not worry about it falling back down and breaking my arm. What a surprise to raise the lower half and not have the upper half fall down. How nice to abandon worry about cleaning the pane and having caulking fall out. It is a real treat. I would be remiss if I did not mention the Hess installers who came and put in the windows; Terry and Mike. They certainly earn their pay. They worked doggedly on a hot and humid day, and were very professional and gentlemanly. They patiently answered any questions I had, and really worked very diligently the whole time they were here. I am most appreciative of their courteousness and professionalism. I do have to tell you that the first time I raised the bedroom window, I actually reached up to brace the upper half out of habit. I also started to clean a pane in a little square motion, as if the wood was still there. However, it did not take me long to realize that those days are gone. Thank you too, for being a patient and considerate sales representative. I enjoyed learning about the windows from you, both in my home and at the showroom when I stopped in. (The amount of the other bid I received, from a highly reputable local construction company, was materially less. Hess in any case!) ... Measure and scheduling: Matt first, then Steve Wagner, finally. Superb. Installers / installation: Absolutely remarkable! The team worked most efficiently, thoroughly, provided EXTRA work as the encountered more hidden effects of the house's age (150 y.o.), as well as accommodating smaller, but still important to me, preferences and needs. Most professional, constantly working. TOTALLY prompt, and finished ahead of the predicted time. Further, never a trust issue, as to quality of workmanship, leaving the entirely furnished house unattended, and signing off on the project prior to their completion. Clean-up was complete. January 23, 2017 Amazing from beginning to end. I already knew I would pick Hess for your knowledge of the types of windows that were in my home, I had been researching for quite a while. I appreciated the honesty about the job and Matt was as nice during the consult as he was the 2 or 3 times I spoke with him at home shows. He is a very personable guy and easy to talk to, I too am in sales so you may know that goes a long way. The install was flawless. THESE GUYS ARE AWESOME. Friendly, courteous, clean, and just great to have here. You had an amazing team that worked on my house. I applaud their hard work. I can honestly say it wasn't at all like having "work done on your house", it was like having friends help you. it wasn't an easy install and i understood that but these guys worked hardcore to make sure they would finish the windows ASAP. They were understanding for my need to be at work the third day. They didn't skip a beat and had all the windows in. They finished the outside capping and trim Friday when I had to be at work. January 24, 2017 I wanted to let you know that the installers did a great job and I love the new front door - so much light. Keep thinking the door was left open. They also did well on the window. Left me some trim for after the bath installers do their thing. I was surprised by the installers as they knocked on my door. Here, your company did give me a heads up call but I didn't know I had no dial tone so calls were going to vox (which I didn't know I had). So please apologize to the installers if I was upset they didn't call first. Again, all of you are pros and I would recommend Hess Windows & Doors to anyone.

December 13, 2016 We had three Okna vinyl replacement windows installed in our home on 11/25/16 by your installer, Terry. We just wanted to let you know what an excellent job he did with installation! He was extremely meticulous. He was very conscientious, thorough and exceptionally neat and clean. September 20, 2016, Tell us about your experience with Hess. On your initial contact with Hess? The Initial contact I had with Hess was at your showroom in Allentown. I was impressed with your product offering and the care and patience the office personnel took in explaining the products with no pressure for decisions or commitments. On the initial sales consultation? Mike Pelone was our salesperson. This recent purchase we made was due to his listening to our request and carefully defining our needs. In particular, we were looking to replace windows in two bay windows as economically as possible by simply replacing the windows in the bay frames. Mike made note of this. He did not commit to this being possible, but he effectively communicated this request so that your technicians could help us make this happen.
April 30, 2016 We recently had your company replace 10 windows and a patio door to our home. We could not be more pleased. First of all, the two installers, Steve on Monday, April 25th and another Steve on Tuesday, April 26th, were excellent in their work and their craftsmanship. They were careful while in our home, they were precise in the work they did, they cleaned up thoroughly after their work was complete and they were always courteous as they performed their work. The finished product, the windows and door, were exactly as we had expected. The natural wood interior color of the windows and the door blends in nicely with our existing natural wood trim and molding. The windows were fit perfectly and the workmanship of their construction is outstanding. The patio door is beautiful and it complements the family room in which it is installed. We are enjoying the blinds and are pleased that the door will be so easy to maintain. As a real added plus, we noticed immediately how quiet our home now is and we are looking forward to realistic energy savings this summer and winter. Again, we are very pleased with your company, your employees and your products. We plan to have more windows replaced in the near future.

I was impressed with how close the size of the windows were to that of the actual openings, especially when the construction was not always square and true. Blaine is a craftsman with extensive knowledge, patience and strong desire to do the best job possible – no shortcuts. He respects the customer and the property treating it as his own. In conversations, he also strives to project the Hess image. He is an excellent planner and maximized the efficiency of all the men to move the job along as fast as possible. We were fortunate to have him work on our house. Having managed projects and people for over 30 years, in our opinion Hess is fortunate to have this gentleman representing them as well. With the products that were installed? So far so good but we have yet to have a rainstorm. They windows look great and the job Blaine and the crew did on the capping is impressive. We are trying to schedule the switch of 2 window sashes that were bent and the front screen door latch does not freely open (needs adjustment). Additional comments: You have a fine company and met all of our expectations. We will make Hess out first and most likely last stop for any future needs
January 28, 2015 This was a great experience from beginning to end. The installers were great and professionals.The product is well built and better than anything you get a box store. I had a Dual deck door replace and screen door installed. I would recommend them for any door/window needs. I did question the cost but you get what you pay for and I am very happy with the end result and will use again.

May 25, 2013 We had the glass crack in a double hung dual pane window. We contacted several installers but Hess was willing to replace only one window. The salesman showed up promptly, gave us some suggestions and then a price. There was no pressure involved. We then decided to replace a second window in the bedroom to have them match. The salesman measured the window opening, but then Hess sent out an installer to double check the measurements to be sure they were correct. The windows had to be ordered. They came within the time frame given by Hess and an appointment was set up for the next day. The installer, Steve, showed up on time and was very helpful in explaining the operation of the new windows. The installation was done very quickly and professionally. He even was able to match some trim using paint he carried with him. He left the bedroom and the garage area where he worked just as clean as when he started. While going in and out of the garage Steve noticed a slight misalignment of the door and he offered to adjust it, which he did at no extra charge. We were extremely satisfied with the entire experience and would definitely use them again as well as recommend them to friends
April 2, 2014 The entire experience was excellent. Our salesman was very knowledgeable and helpful. Pointed out little details and made the process very painless. They were patient and understanding when it came to installing the door. Had a very snowy winter and when door came in and was ready to be installed had about foot of snow/ice on deck. Once we cleared the deck enough and the ice melted the installation was scheduled promptly. The installer was on time and did a wonderful job. Looks great!! We had only one concern with the installation that was taken care of quickly and with no hesitation at all. We absolutely love our new door. Everyone we dealt with were very helpful, and courteous. When we are ready to install a new front door and new windows we have no question who we are calling.
April 22, 2014 Hess Windows replaced 13 of our older 1950s era windows with Seaway Encore while vinyl double hung windows, two of which were obscure glass for the bathrooms. They also capped the exterior window frames. We paid an additional amount for lead containment. Hess did a wonderful job from estimate to completion. They were very professional. There is a bit of a wait from the time of ordering until installation, which was explained at the time of the estimate, because they do not use subcontractors, so scheduling their crews can take some time.
May 24, 2014 The person that came out to do the quote was very nice and personable. He understood I didn't have a lot of money but really needed a new window. He measured the window. The quote I got was more than reasonable. I went for it. A couple of days later another person came to measure the window to make sure the measurements were correct. I'd say about 3 weeks later the installers came. They were on time, professional , and answered any questions I had without hesitation. The window I had in looked like it was as old as my house. They took it out and had everything done in about 3 hours. I can actually see out my living room window. There were two parts missing but the installers fixed it until the parts are available. I know I won't have to call them. The installer was very honest. Told me what I should know and what not to do until the parts come in. If I ever need anything else I most certainly will call this company first since everyone else had such high quotes. I wish I would have called them a lot sooner. Words do not express how happy I am. A big thank you to everyone at Hess Windows!

11/2/2013 An appointment was scheduled when the doors were ready. Men arrived as scheduled and did an excellent job from start to finish. They were very professional, friendly, and did an excellent job. They know how to hang a door! This is not the first door Hess has installed in my home. I've always had excellent work, professional, honest, fair people who are customer oriented--not easy to find anymore. Several of the doors they've installed in the past were not standard-size, easy installations, but they made it look easy. Why wouldn't I return to a company like that? I highly recommend this company for you know when the job is finished, you will be very satisfied. It's good to work with people who get it right the first time!
April 29, 2013 Dear Mr. Bonacci: It has been 3 weeks since our new Hess replacement windows were installed in our home and we had to tell you how pleased we are. We never thought new windows could be exciting, but they are! The windows, themselves, are great quality and the ease of cleaning is unbeatable! However, it’s not just the windows that we are so pleased with. The installation and capping of the windows enhances the look of our home. Dealing with Matt, Kevin, and the installation crew (Steve, Terry, and two other gentlemen who we do not know their names), has been great. Everyone was professional, courteous, neat, and a pleasure to have in our home. We had looked at several other companies for replacement windows and decided to go with Hess, not only because of the quality and price of your product, but also because it was like a breath of fresh air dealing with your company! There was no 3 to 4 hour presentation or “hard sell” to deal with. The windows were shown and explained to us, and all of our many questions were answered with no hesitation. Our original bow window had 5 panes and we were concerned about losing glass because of the amount of vinyl on each pane. Matt was the only one who mentioned that we could change the bow to 4 panes, thus giving us more glass in each pane. We decided to go with the 4-pane bow window and we just love it! Another deciding factor to go with Hess was that only a damaged pane- not the entire bow window- could be replaced if the need ever arose (example: a stone or BB hitting a pane). In the end, we would not hesitate to recommend Hess windows to anyone. And, if you like, please feel free to use us as a reference; you will be highly recommended!
March 10, 2013 I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with the windows that were installed in my home recently by the Installation Team from Hess Windows. The entire process was seamless from the time you and I first discussed the installation process until final the completion date. This was a large amount of money for me to spend on my home and one is always cautious about selecting a contractor for the job. I have to say that after talking to you I felt very comfortable in selecting Hess Windows for the job. The workmanship was excellent and the windows look great. Spending this amount of money is like spending money on a high class meal. If the food is excellent and you get enough of it you never complain about the price because you leave satisfied. 2012 Dear Jeff, At some point in everyone’s lives we develop a passion for pastimes that we love. Swimming or hiking. Hunting or fishing. Dancing or drama! Through the years a group of people began to enjoy their hobby by forming a chorale group. This group evolved into the Nuremberg Community Players. I wish to commend to you of the efficiency and dedication of your employees in installing the fourteen vinyl windows for our house. The first day on the job, I couldn't believe how quickly & efficiently they removed the old windows and installed the Seaway windows we bought. In particular I wish to compliment the leadership of Blain on the first day of the installation. Within 2 & 1/2 hours all fourteen windows were installed after stripping of the old windows and recovering of aluminum trim had began. The next day Blain came back alone to complete all the aluminum trim. He worked steadily by himself and performed an excellent job of presenting a fine looking installation. I hope you appreciate what a craftsman you have in Blain. He does work as if it was his own house. He is dedicated to his work and the customer. I hope you know what a good man you have. In fact, if I had known him beforehand I could have gone on vacation and left my belongings to his trustworthy care.
Dear Sirs, I just had to write to tell you of our experience with your company. Last winter we attended the Home Show at Ag Hall in Allentown. When we walked in, your display was right there. We decided to "just look". We knew we were not ready to buy yet, but we wanted to see what was available to us. There was a young lady at your display that came over to talk to us. We explained we were in no position to buy at the present time, and that was fine with her. She graciously took the time to explain the windows, installation and benefits of getting Hess Windows. I wish I remembered her name, but I am sorry to say I don't . As we walked around the Show, we saw other window displays, and by the end of the evening we knew which windows we would be getting. We finally called this fall, and your salesman came to our home on October 6th, and we ordered our windows. Once the weather got really cold out, we thought we would not hear from you until Spring. Well, in the middle of December the installer called and said they would be out next week. Well, let me tell you, I panicked! Here it is 4 days before Christmas, the house is totally decorated, and they decide to put windows in. My husband was home from work when they came, I wasn't. I was at work stressing out over how my home would look for the holidays. I was positive they would be in the middle of the job and probably not finish until after New Year. I called home at lunch time to see if they had made any progress at all. Can you imagine my total surprise when Robert told me all windows (all 9!) were in and they were trimming them. I knew he must have been mistaken. When I arrived home at 5:00 I was prepared for the worst. Imagine my surprise when I walked in and no one could ever tell they had been there! The house was spotless, nothing was left laying around, and there was nothing left in the yard either. There was not one iota of anything that we had to do. Every window fit exactly where the old one was. There were no walls or window sills to repair. If we would not tell anyone there was work done, they would not know it. I actually had to go over to the windows to make sure they were in. You sent four installers that did a phenomenal job. I, myself, did not meet them, but Robert couldn't praise them enough. Please be sure to tell Andy, Steve, Mike, and Willie how much their workmanship was appreciated. Not only were they excellent workers, but extremely polite also. I think it is very important for a company to know what kind of people they have working for them - and you can be very proud of these four men. All in all, the whole experience from beginning to end was great. November 29, 2007 Friends at Hess, Earlier this week we had a sliding patio door installed in our home. I am writing to thank you for the professional service and especially the quality of the installation. I believe the installer’s name was Steve, although I was not home at the time and did not meet him. His work was exemplary and he was very courteous to my wife while working, answering any questions we may have had. He even noticed a potential problem with the siding J- Channel and by quickly drilling a small weep hole he probably saved us some problems down the road. Honestly, I am fairly handy DIY type and Steve was the first contractor in our house since it was built. I am very glad we chose to go with you and Steve doing the installation (although my pride is a little hurt because there is no way I could have done such a good job). In addition Steve noticed a small problem with the door and pointed it out to us and then reported it to you. Another of your employees, who was just as courteous, showed up today to take a look. He confirmed the problem and said it would be taken care of. This is terrific service. We chose your company based on nothing more than the fact that you have been in business for so long and also by the way we were treated when we came into the store. We actually came in just for ideas and a price. Quite frankly, we just liked what we saw and made the decision right then and there. That is something I rarely do.
